Crestview extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 9-10. They came up short against the LaBrae Vikings, falling 15-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 on Monday.
Crestview got a big performance out of Gia Depace, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Makayla Mckee, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
As for LaBrae, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.
On LaBrae's side, Leah DeArmitt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. DeArmitt has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.
In other batting news, LaBrae got a massive performance out of Shelby Bragg, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits Bragg has posted since back in March. Riley Rowe was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
Crestview and LaBrae could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Rebels (ranked 371st) will meet Maplewood (ranked 155th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, LaBrae will square off against Ursuline at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (227 vs. 106).
