Softball Recap: Willcox Beats Santa Cruz Valley for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Willcox waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils as they made off with an 11-5 victory. Considering the Cowboys have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Nataly Thompson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Karlie St Clair was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Willcox was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They are 10-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Willcox's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Santa Cruz Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willcox will host Benson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they will welcome St. Augustine Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
