Soccer Recap: Evergreen Valley Comes Up Short

Evergreen Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gilroy Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in January.

Victor Ashkar and Hector Pulido scored both of Evergreen Valley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Evergreen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-11-1. As for Gilroy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evergreen Valley will challenge James Lick at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. James Lick will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Evergreen Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gilroy, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Yerba Buena at 7:00 p.m. Gilroy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.
