Softball Recap: Grangeville Sets Scoring Season-High Against Kellogg

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grangeville). They were the clear victors by a 28-6 margin over the Kellogg Wildcats on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.

Makenna York was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and five RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Addisyn Vanderwall was another key player, going 3-for-6 with seven RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Grangeville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

Grangeville's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Kellogg, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Grangeville and Kellogg will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time Grangeville sees the field they'll take on Orofino at 4:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Kellogg, their break will end when they face Timberlake at 4:00 p.m. on April 8.
