Baseball Recap: Conway Christian Extends Winning Streak to Three

West Side typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Conway Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 10-7 win over West Side. The victory was familiar territory for Conway Christian, who have now won three games in a row.

Xander Stone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Bryce Keathley was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Preston Elliott, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Conway Christian's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for West Side, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-4.

Conway Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-0 victory against Episcopal on the 25th. As for West Side, they will challenge St. Joseph at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.6, the Bulldogs 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
