Baseball Game Preview: Hamburg Hawks vs. Berks Catholic Saints

Hamburg is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Berks Catholic is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Hawks will welcome the Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hamburg will be strutting in after a victory while Berks Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.

On Wednesday, Hamburg had just enough and edged out Kutztown 4-2.

Berks Catholic got a good showing from Brock Shrawder, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Trey Stricker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mikey Fidler, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Hamburg is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Berks Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
