Basketball Recap: Midway Takes a Loss

Midway is still winless after their contest against Bowie on Saturday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the Volunteers. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.2 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

When it comes to explaining why Midway lost, don't look at Aryce Thibodeaux. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 23 points and 14 boards. Thanks to that strong game, Thibodeaux now owns an excellent 48.8% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Rowan Swartz, who posted six points.

Midway's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Bowie, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Midway wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-49 victory against Arlington on the 22nd. As for Bowie, they have also already played their next game, a 61-50 win against Lamar on the 22nd.
