Volleyball Recap: Avery Sample and Kennedy Massey Secure Win for Nettleton

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marion, Nettleton was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since September 28, 2024.

Nettleton took Greene County Tech into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12, 13-25, 17-25, 15-12.

Nettleton was led to victory by Kennedy Massey and Avery Sample. Massey had four digs and three aces, while Sample had 35 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Sample has posted over her last six matches. Kylie Deaton was another key player, getting 11 assists and six digs.

Nettleton moved to 4-11 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Greene County Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Nettleton will head out to square off against Wynne at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greene County Tech, they will welcome Searcy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
