Basketball Recap: Joel Barlow Takes a Loss

Joel Barlow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 64-52 to the Brookfield Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 59-40 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Danny Ciriello continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brookfield, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Ciriello is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was John Lopes, who went 5 of 7 en route to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Joel Barlow's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Brookfield, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Joel Barlow wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-30 defeat against Weston on the 13th. As for Brookfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-47 loss against Pomperaug on the 13th.
