Grant Mercer put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April on Saturday. He struck out three batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
