Mountain Iron-Buhl had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.2 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-37 victory over the Cromwell Cardinals. The Rangers' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Mountain Iron-Buhl got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Farrah Thomas out in front who went 5 of 12 to rack up 12 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. Those eight steals gave Thomas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paige Norman, who went 7 for 11 on her way to 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Mountain Iron-Buhl smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Cromwell's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shannon Lund, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Lund has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Anderson, who went 6 of 11 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Mountain Iron-Buhl's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.4 points. As for Cromwell, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-3.

Looking ahead, Mountain Iron-Buhl will challenge Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Cromwell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 95-22 win against Cook County on the 7th.
