Softball Recap: Bethlehem Wins Going Away Against Bardstown

Bethlehem got themselves on the board against Bardstown on Tuesday, but Bardstown never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Tigers. The Eagles/Banshees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Alexis Hume made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last six games. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Bethlehem got a massive performance out of Gabby Luckett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Luckett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paige Miller, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Bethlehem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bardstown only posted an OBP of .133.

The win made it two in a row for Bethlehem and bumps their season record up to 13-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Bardstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Bethlehem will take on Central Hardin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles/Banshees are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bardstown, they will face off against Nelson County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
