Baseball Recap: Kewanee Comes Up Short

Kewanee lost against Geneseo back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Boilermakers lost 13-3 to the Maple Leafs. The Boilermakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Colson Welgat made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Kewanee's record is now 10-14. As for Geneseo, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kewanee will welcome Newman Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Geneseo, they will host East Moline United at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Maple Leafs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
