Football Recap: Oakcrest Comes Up Short

Oakcrest had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it six. They took a blow against the Cedar Creek Pirates, falling 35-6. The Falcons lost against the Pirates in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 27-25 score last time.

Zane Forest threw for 71 yards and one touchdown. Jaleel Williams was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards. On the ground, Donovan Linthicum rushed for 30 yards.

As for Cedar Creek, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points over those games.

It was another big night for Aamir Dunbar, who rushed for 190 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 140 rushing yards.

Oakcrest has already played their next matchup, a 42-0 defeat against Pleasantville on the 9th. As for Cedar Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-0 victory against Lower Cape May on the 9th.
