Baseball Recap: North Muskegon Beats Grant for Their Seventh Straight Victory

North Muskegon entered their tilt with Grant on Monday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The Norsemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Jaxon Bean looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bronson Hurst was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylan Nielsen, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

North Muskegon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grant struck out six times.

North Muskegon's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

North Muskegon and Grant should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Norsemen (ranked 69th) will meet Hesperia (ranked 501st) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Grant will square off against Hart at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (201 vs. 437).
