Baseball Game Preview: McIntosh Demons vs. Williamson Lions

The McIntosh Demons will head out to face off against the Williamson Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. McIntosh has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

McIntosh is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Southern Choctaw by a score of 16-15 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (ten), the Demons still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Williamson hadn't done well against Blount recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lions walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Leopards. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

The team relied heavily on Tyler Gaines, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He has become a key player for Williamson: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Todrick Withers, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases.

McIntosh has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Williamson, their record now sits at 7-9.
