Basketball Recap: Pershing County Mustangs vs. Oasis Academy Bighorns
Pershing County won against North Tahoe last Friday with 32 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Pershing County Mustangs had just enough and edged the Oasis Academy Bighorns out 32-29. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly three points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pershing County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyra Cerni, who posted 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That's the most points Cerni has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Allen, who scored five points and ten boards.
Oasis Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Taylynn Maynez, who earned 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Craig, who had eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Pershing County has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Oasis Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Pershing County will square off against Sierra Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pershing County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. Oasis Academy has already played their next game, a 49-31 victory against Incline on the 5th.
