Heath posted their closest win since September 18th on Wednesday. They skirted past the Licking Valley Panthers 3-2. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Heath wouldn't go down easily and took Licking Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 20-25, 23-25, 15-12.
Ella Jewell paced Heath's offense, picking up 18 kills. Jewell got some help from Ansley Harbage and her 26 assists.
Despite the loss, Licking Valley still got an impressive performance from Emily Conaway, who had 11 digs and one assist.
Heath's record is now 12-10. As for Licking Valley, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Heath and Fredericktown will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Licking Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
