Baseball Game Preview: Southeast Knights vs. Center Yellowjackets

Southeast is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will head out on the road to take on the Center Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m.

Southeast is leaving town to face Center after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Southeast lost 23-0 to Harmon on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Center had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let Central get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Blue Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Milton Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Brennan Eubanks was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Lucas Westring, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Southeast suffered a grim 19-0 defeat to Center in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Southeast avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
