It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Amherst faced off against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller on Friday. The Amherst Broncos took down the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs 54-39. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-42 last Thursday.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chance Daake, who posted 12 points and five boards. Daake has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Jayce Boteo-Mazariegos also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Amherst is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
