Basketball Recap: Wauwatosa East Comes Up Short

After flying high against West Allis Hale last Tuesday, Wauwatosa East came back down to earth. The Wauwatosa East Red Raiders took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marquette University Hilltoppers on Friday. The Red Raiders have struggled against the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Wauwatosa East's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Marquette University, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wauwatosa East won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oak Creek at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Oak Creek's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games. As for Marquette University, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Arrowhead at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arrowhead will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Marquette University surely won't give up without a fight.
