Basketball Recap: Nokomis Comes Up Short

Nokomis lost against Skowhegan back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Nokomis Warriors opened the new year with a less-than-successful 45-37 loss to the Skowhegan River Hawks.

Nokomis has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Skowhegan, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-6.

Nokomis and Skowhegan could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings. Nokomis (ranked 84th) will meet Cony (ranked seventh) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Skowhegan will take on Lawrence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 85 places (89 vs. 4).
