Cristo Rey Jesuit had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past the School of the Woods Wildcats with a 22-18 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 27-19 back in December of 2024.

Leading Cristo Rey Jesuit to victory were Kelis Pickett and Mayte Hernandez. Pickett went 5 of 7 on her way to 10 points and four steals, while Hernandez posted eight points.

School of the Woods' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leah Salvatierra, who put up four points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sarah DeZevallos, who had five points and eight steals.

The win got Cristo Rey Jesuit back to even at 5-5. As for School of the Woods, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-5.

Cristo Rey Jesuit will head out on the road to face off against Tekoa Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for School of the Woods, they will welcome Genesis Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. School of the Woods' defense has only allowed 24.1 points per game this season, so Genesis Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
