Recap: Gates County Red Barons vs. Tarboro Vikings
The Gates County Red Barons fell victim to the Tarboro Vikings''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Vikings. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, Gates County couldn't push the score so high this time.
Tarboro was led to victory by Kamerin Mcdowell-moore and Caiden Everette. Mcdowell-moore rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while Everette rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Everette was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Gates County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Tarboro, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gates County will face off against Perquimans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tarboro, they will head out on the road to face off against Washington County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington County is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
