Basketball Recap: Shaker Heights Comes Up Short

Shaker Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to the Mentor Cardinals on the road by a 56-41 margin. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 110th).

Shaker Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Mentor, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Shaker Heights will finish 2024 at home by hosting North at 12:30 p.m. on December 28th. Mentor and Jackson will compete for holiday cheer at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
