Basketball Recap: Dunellen Takes a Loss

Dunellen lost against Timothy Christian back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Dunellen Destroyers took a hard 61-44 fall against Timothy Christian. The Destroyers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Dunellen still got an impressive performance from Rose Ciccolella, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave Ciccolella a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Auguste, who posted four points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Dunellen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Dunellen's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Timothy Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Coming up, Dunellen will head out to take on Somerset Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Timothy Christian, they will host Calvary Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
