Basketball Recap: Finley Tollens Key Part of Team Effort in Screaming Eagle Win

Ashley's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-52 victory over the Coastal Christian Centurions. The Screaming Eagle haven't had any issues with the Centurions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ashley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Finley Tollens, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Tollens is becoming a predictor of the Screaming Eagle's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 2-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Keyon Jones, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

Ashley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They are 2-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Ashley's record is now 2-4. As for Coastal Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Ashley will challenge Topsail at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Screaming Eagle their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Coastal Christian, they will square off against Trinity Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
