Football Recap: Williston-Elko Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Williston-Elko had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Pelion Panthers and fell 35-0. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Pelion's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jai Chuniesingh, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Another back making a difference was Tre Jackson, who rushed for 70 yards and two scores.

Looking ahead, Williston-Elko will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Barnwell at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pelion, they will head out to square off against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
