Basketball Recap: Boca Ciega's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Clearwater came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Boca Ciega, but Anthony Brown wouldn't allow it. The Boca Ciega Pirates put the hurt on the Clearwater Tornadoes with a sharp 65-43 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Brown, who made all 10 shots he took for 23 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16.5 points per game.

Despite the loss, Clearwater still got an impressive performance from Keshawn Andrews, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 20 points and six blocks. Andrews is becoming a predictor of Clearwater's success: when he posts at least three blocks the team is 7-3 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Tavaris Gant, who posted seven points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Boca Ciega's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-9. As for Clearwater, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.

Boca Ciega wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-39 victory against Pinellas Park on the 22nd. As for Clearwater, they will square off against Booneville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
