Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Park Lions vs. De La Salle Meteors

Lincoln Park hasn't had much luck against De La Salle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will face off against the Meteors at 4:00 p.m. Lincoln Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Lincoln Park is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Saint Ignatius College Prep on Monday. They came up short against the Wolfpack, falling 10-1.

Lincoln Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Marian Catholic hit De La Salle with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Meteors fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 8-7. The Meteors just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Samara Agredano made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Alvarez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Lincoln Park's loss dropped their record down to 8-10-1. As for De La Salle, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-10.

Lincoln Park suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to De La Salle when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
