Soccer Game Preview: Von Steuben vs. North Grand

The Von Steuben Panthers will head out to challenge the North Grand Eagle Owls at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Von Steuben will head out to face North Grand after giving up their first home loss of the season on Monday. The Panthers came up short against Chicago Academy, falling 3-0. Von Steuben's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, North Grand and Marine Leadership Academy squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but North Grand had to settle for second. They lost 4-1 to the Bulldogs. North Grand's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

North Grand's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Von Steuben, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1-1 and their overall record down to 8-7-1.

Von Steuben skirted past North Grand 1-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
