Basketball Recap: Wayne County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Wayne County needed a changed in momentum after dropping eight straight games and they got it from Sed Mcgriff. The Wayne County Yellow Jackets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 victory over the Perry Panthers on Friday thanks in part to Mcgriff, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Those 16 points gave him a new career-high.

Wayne County's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-12. As for Perry, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-16.

Wayne County has already played their next game, a 64-49 defeat against Benedictine on the 18th. As for Perry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-49 loss against New Hampstead on the 18th.
