Basketball Recap: Lyons-Decatur Northeast Comes Up Short

Lyons-Decatur Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to the Wisner-Pilger Gators on the road by a 59-40 margin. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Wisner-Pilger, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-15.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars duke it out with the Tigers on Friday. East Butler has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 182 points over their last three matchups. As for Wisner-Pilger, they will square off against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
