Harlem is 9-1 against Rockford East since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the E-Rabs at 7:15 p.m. Harlem's defense has only allowed 10.7 points per game this season, so Rockford East's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Harlem is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Freeport for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-14 victory. With the Huskies ahead 38-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

La'Darrius Foster had a dynamite game, rushing for 46 yards and a pair of scores, while also picking up 50 receiving yards and one touchdown. Jai'Untae Jones-Williams was another key rusher, rushing for 68 yards and one TD on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Harlem was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Harlem's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 3.5 times. Noah Crandall refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Harlem got some further help from Brenyn Brickson: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles.

Meanwhile, Rockford East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 34-0 loss at the hands of Hononegah. While losing is never fun, the E-Rabs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 435th, while the Indians are ranked 199th).

Rockford East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Harlem, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Harlem strolled past Rockford East when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 33-14. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the E-Rabs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
