The Woodland Hills Wolverines will be playing at home against the Armstrong River Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Even though Woodland Hills has not done well against Penn Hills recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. Woodland Hills skirted past Penn Hills 68-65. The win was all the more spectacular given Woodland Hills' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Penn Hills is ranked 66th).
Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Armstrong made off with a 63-62 victory over Plum. The win made it back-to-back wins for Armstrong.
Jacob Szep continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Valasek, who scored 15 points.
Woodland Hills' win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Armstrong, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-6.
