Basketball Game Preview: Chantilly Chargers vs. Oakton Cougars

The Chantilly Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Oakton Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Chantilly is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Washington-Liberty by a score of 48-40.

Meanwhile, Oakton entered their tilt with Yorktown on Tuesday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-43 W against the Patriots. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th in Virginia, while the Patriots are ranked 143rd in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chantilly has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Oakton pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Chantilly came up short against Oakton when the teams last played on Thursday, falling 41-33. Can Chantilly avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
