Softball Recap: Pleasanton's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Pleasanton can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past the Carrizo Springs Wildcats 15-8. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Sayla Garris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Amiryah Rodriguez was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Thalia Martinez was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

Pleasanton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.

Pleasanton's victory bumped their record up to 17-11-1. As for Carrizo Springs, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-19.

Coincidentally, Pleasanton and Carrizo Springs will both be playing Devine the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Warhorses at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
