Recap: Florence Gophers vs. San Tan Foothills Sabercats
In what's become a running theme this season, the Florence Gophers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past San Tan Foothills 67-47. The win was a breath of fresh air for Florence as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Florence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aubrey Farmer, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Farmer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keylee Scarbrough, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds.
Despite the loss, San Tan Foothills saw an underclassman step up: Cienna Witcher scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals. Witcher hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Aj Williams was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Florence's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for San Tan Foothills, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-12.
Florence will take on Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for San Tan Foothills, they will head out on the road to challenge Benjamin Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
