Softball Recap: Northwest Cabarrus Takes a Loss

Northwest Cabarrus's last matchup with West Rowan could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Trojans lost 20-6 to the Falcons. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Northwest Cabarrus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Ellis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another was Isabella Ellis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Northwest Cabarrus' loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for West Rowan, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Looking ahead, Northwest Cabarrus will take on Robinson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Rowan, they will square off against South Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
