Basketball Game Preview: Spiro Bulldogs vs. Wister Wildcats

The Spiro Bulldogs will face off against the Wister Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Spiro is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Last Tuesday, Spiro didn't have too much trouble with Vian as they won 51-36. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Wolverines are ranked 364th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Wister had to suffer through a 66-17 loss at the hands of Red Oak. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Spiro's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25 points. As for Wister, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.

Spiro strolled past Wister when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 57-40. Will Spiro repeat their success, or does Wister have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
