Baseball Recap: West Jessamine Comes Up Short

West Jessamine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Lexington Christian Eagles, falling 16-8. One positive for the Colts, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Silas Marshall was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Jordan Head also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

West Jessamine's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4-1. As for Lexington Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, West Jessamine will take on Woodford County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Woodford County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so West Jessamine's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lexington Christian, they will square off against West Jessamine at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
