Volleyball Recap: Arlington Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Arlington took on Paloma Valley on Wednesday. The Lions came up short against the Wildcats, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2017.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16, 25-18.

Abigail Johnston was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 14 assists and three aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more assists the last three times she's played.

Arlington has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Paloma Valley, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Coincidentally, Arlington and Paloma Valley will both be playing Poly the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will host the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
