Scranton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mulberry Yellowjackets a 16-0 shutout. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Natalie Miller (2025) made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Miller (2025) was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Emey Pierce (2028) was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brecken Mainer (2028), who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Scranton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .875. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Scranton's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mulberry, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, Scranton will welcome Lamar at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rockets 2.7, the Warriors 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Mulberry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
