After a string of five wins, Georgia Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 75-58 bruising from the Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors. The Generals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 67-65.

Thad Beckley had a dynamite game for Southwest Georgia Academy, shooting 5-for-7 from deep and almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Beckley a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston Durden, who posted 21 points.

Georgia Christian's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6. As for Southwest Georgia Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Georgia Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-60 win against Crisp Academy on the 30th. As for Southwest Georgia Academy, they will head out to square off against Southland Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Georgia Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Southland Academy likes a good challenge.
