Basketball Recap: Natalia Cabralez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Uvalde over Eagle Pass

Uvalde was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 58-42 fall against the Eagle Pass Eagles. The Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Uvalde's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalia Cabralez, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Amilee Pulido, who earned eight points.

Uvalde's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Eagle Pass, their win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-12.

Uvalde has already played their next match, a 55-51 victory against John F. Kennedy on the 10th. As for Eagle Pass, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-25 loss against Medina Valley on the 10th.
