Softball Recap: Redmond Mustangs vs. Hanford Falcons
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Redmond ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past the Hanford Falcons 4-2. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 5-3 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Ainsley Barcalow was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over eight innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Livy Ruess was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
Redmond now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hanford, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Coincidentally, Redmond and Hanford will both be playing Emerald Ridge the next time they take the field. Redmond will head out to face Emerald Ridge at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Hanford will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
