Victory Baptist Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Cross Lanes Christian Warriors with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Saints as they're now sitting on five straight dating back to last season.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Victory Baptist Academy took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-8, 25-12.

Emily Fizer paced Victory Baptist Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Fizer got some help from Ashlynn Whitt and her 13 assists. Julianne McNeely controlled things from the service line, finishing with 12 aces.

Victory Baptist Academy has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Elk Valley Christian on the 22nd. As for Cross Lanes Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mount Hope Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 28th.
