It was a good run, but Sheldon unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monterey Trail Mustangs. The game marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

While Sheldon ultimately came up short, they really made Monterey Trail work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 29-27, 20-25, 25-22.

Nathan Zhu paced Sheldon's offense, picking up 23 kills. Zhu got some help from Brent Tran and his 42 assists.

Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Monterey Trail, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Sheldon has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Cordova on the 8th. As for Monterey Trail, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Franklin on the 11th.
