Softball Game Preview: Gallatin Green Wave vs. Green Hill Hawks

Gallatin hasn't had much luck against Green Hill recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Green Wave will head out to challenge the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Gallatin has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gallatin is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Wednesday. They lost 13-1 to Westmoreland.

Gallatin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Conger, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Green Hill came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Buccaneers 13-2. Considering the Hawks have won 13 games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Green Hill pushed their record up to 22-2-2 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Gallatin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Gallatin suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Green Hill in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Green Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
