Basketball Game Preview: Sachse Mustangs vs. Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes

Sachse hasn't had much luck against Duncanville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Sachse Mustangs will square off against the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sachse comes in on 14 and Duncanville on four.

Sachse is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They secured a 41-36 W over Rockwall. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bryan typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Duncanville proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Vikings 82-47. The Panthers and Pantherettes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Duncanville pushed their record up to 27-6 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points over those games. As for Sachse, their victory bumped their record up to 30-5.

Sachse was dealt a bruising 63-34 loss at the hands of Duncanville in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Can Sachse avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
